Evil Eye Protection Bracelet Workshop

A Hands-On Lecture + Jewelry Making Experience

This workshop will be held in person on Saturday April 18th 2026 from 1pm to 4pm at Illuminations in Cedar Rapids IA. 

The concept of the “evil eye” appears across cultures and centuries, referring to the belief that envy or ill intention can create energetic disturbance. In this workshop, we’ll begin by exploring the historical roots of the term and the most widely recognized counter-charm: the nazar bead.

From there, we’ll look more closely at what defines an amulet and discuss the three key components required to create truly charmed jewelry. This class bridges foundational and intermediate practice, combining practical technique with deeper energetic understanding.

Participants will then begin selecting their materials. A variety of nazar beads in different colors will be available, along with additional protective ally beads. We’ll discuss the traditional meanings and energetic properties of each option so students can choose what best aligns with their intention.

Before construction begins, we’ll move through a guided exercise designed to intentionally awaken and connect with the spirits of the materials chosen. This step grounds the bracelet in relationship rather than symbolism alone.

Students will then learn a beginner-friendly wrapped loop bracelet technique using copper wire. This fundamental wire wrapping method is accessible to those new to jewelry making while still offering refinement for those with some experience. 

Students will spend dedicated time creating their own custom Evil Eye protection bracelet with hands-on guidance throughout the process.

Once completed, we will cover practical care and keeping; how to cleanse, maintain, and periodically recharge your bracelet so it remains an active ally in your spiritual practice for years to come. Each participant will also receive a small vial of Energizer Oil to support ongoing empowerment of their piece.

All materials and tools are provided. No prior jewelry-making experience is required, though some familiarity with personal energy work will enhance the experience.

We will be working with copper wire but the bead sizes used prevent it from being in constant contact with the wearer's skin.

Participants will leave with:

• A handcrafted Evil Eye protection bracelet
• Foundational wire wrapping skills
• A clearer understanding of amulets and charmed jewelry
• Tools for ongoing care and energetic maintenance
